These are top quality "no frills" traditional snow chains, excellent value for money, quick and easy to fit.

They're entirely suitable for occasional use in the UK or on e.g. a ski-drive holiday.

Additional notes:

  • Each XP9 chain link is 9mm high, square-edged to make it bite well into snow and ice.
  • If you've used snowchains before you'll really appreciate the XP9's side-loading steel tightening ratchet - it's particularly quick and easy to use.
  • These chains are supplied in a strong plastic case, together with a pair of plastic gloves and a couple of emergency spare links (pliers are required).
  • Suitable for vehicles up to 2350 kg.
  • All Polaire chains meet the requirements of Austria's Ö-Norm 5117 and Germany's TÜV.

Important safety information: The purchase and use of snow chains is a technical business, and a complex one to manage in the online environment. These traditional chains will fit around the tyres you have chosen but it's possible that they're not suitable for use with the combination of your tyre size and your particular make and model of car.

  • In any event, please check your vehicle handbook to see what it says about the use of snow chains. If it says, for example, "The use of snow chains is not permitted" or "No snow chains with a link size wider than 10mm may be used", this is important information! But also note that what we call "Ladder track chains" or "Front-fitting chains" may always be used, unless your driving wheels are just about touching the wheelarches and there is obviously no space to fit anything to them.

Delivery charges and arrangements:

We charge a contribution towards delivery costs, depending on what you order, where you live, and how quickly you want the goods.

These are our standard charges; there are usually surcharges for all offshore destinations and some remote postcodes - for details please see our delivery information page.

Cut-off times for Express Delivery orders
Express Delivery orders placed before 4pm will usually be despatched on the date of order. Express Delivery orders placed after 4pm will be despatched the next working day.

How we deliver

We aim to be as flexible as possible when delivering your order. Most orders are delivered using couriers. Goods can usually be left without a signature; you'll be asked for "Special Delivery Instructions" at the checkout. We always need the cardholder's address, but you can specify an alternative delivery address (e.g. work address).

Smaller orders are despatched using Royal Mail or DX2Home and may need to be signed for; if you are out you'll be left a card outlining options which may include arranging a re-delivery or collecting your parcel from a post office for Royal Mail deliveries.

99 point something percent of orders are delivered to plan but occasionally deliveries are affected by factors that are beyond our control - traffic jams, bad weather etc. - and there is therefore by definition no such thing as a "guaranteed" delivery, whether from us or from anyone else.
